个人简介

Dr. Ting Chen is currently National Qianren Professor of computer science at Tsinghua University. He is also a faculty member at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Beijing National Laboratory of Information Science and Technology.  He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1993 with B.E. in computer science and received his Ph.D. in computer science at Stony Brook University in 1997. He was a lecturer of genetics at Harvard Medical School until 2000. Later, he became an assistant, associate, and full professor of biological sciences and computer science at the University of Southern California (USC) before joining Tsinghua University.

His research interests are computational biology/bioinformatics, medical informatics, algorithms, and artificial intelligence. His current research topics include (1) medical data analysis and intelligent medicine, (2) diagnosis of rare diseases, (3) human genome and transcriptome data analysis, (4) human microbial interactions and functions. He has published over 140 papers, many in the top journals including Science, Cell, Nature Biomedical Engineering, PNAS, Nature Communications, Cell Systems, Genome Research, American Journal of Human Genetics, Genome Biology, and Nucleic Acid Research. His publications have been cited over 14,000 times (Google Scholar).

He received the Sloan Research Fellowship in 2004, given to the top young scientists in North America. He has advised 51 postdoctoral fellows, doctoral and master students.


陈挺教授任职清华大学计算机科学与技术系,人工智能研究院,北京信息科学与技术国家研究中心,清华数据科学院医疗健康大数据中心主任。陈挺教授1993年获清华大学计算机科学与技术学士学位,1997年获美国石溪大学(Stony Brook University)计算机科学博士学位。历任美国哈佛医学院(Harvard Medical School)遗传学讲师;美国南加州大学(University of Southern California)生命科学系,计算机科学系和数学系助理教授、副教授、正教授,曾经担任南加州大学计算生物学部主任(系主任)。 

陈挺教授长期研究大数据高效算法设计和机器学习,并应用于研究人类基因组、转录组、蛋白组、微生物组、医学信息。在蛋白质组学以及质谱仪数据处理、高通量测序数据处理、复杂疾病的遗传学研究、人工智能医疗大数据等方面均取得了一系列重要的研究成果。曾负责及参与美国自然科学基金会(NSF)、美国国家卫生研究院(NIH),中国自然科学基金(NSFC)等项目十余项。曾担任项美国自然科学基金(NSF),美国国家卫生研究院(NIH),美国能源部(DOE),加拿大国家科学与工程研究基金(NSERC),新加坡科技研究局(A-STAR),以色列科学基金(ISF),芬兰国家科学基金(Academy of Finland),台湾国科会,微软研究基金,中国自然科学基金(NSFC)重点项目的评委。ScienceCellNature Biomedical EngineeringPNASNature CommunicationsCell SystemsGenome ResearchNucleic Acid ResearchAmerican Journal of Human GeneticsGenome BiologyPLoS Medicine等国际著名期刊发表学术论文140多篇,被引将近12000次(Google Scholar)。指导过博士研究生和博士后研究人员50多名。陈挺教授2004年获得美国史隆研究奖(Sloan Fellow)。
